Vale Warren Waite
It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Warren Waite.
Warren was a member of Warriewood SLSC for over 30 years, joining initially as a Nipper parent. And still to this day is a member of the Geris Gym membership.
The significant and on-going support to the club through financial assistance was instrumental in the re-establishment of the club in the 90's. His contribution to the club was not only financial but in so many other ways. As you sit on the members deck and enjoy the ambience, Warren's work is everywhere, - the wooden tables, BBQ's, windows at the BB area is to name a few. His work in selling raffle tickets to enable the building of the members area was tireless. As was working on a shovel to help dig the foundations. I think you get the picture !.
An award in Warren and Ginny Waites name is the Overall award in the Nippers.
Warren fought an ongoing battle with cancer for over 20 years. Due to his tremendous courage many thought of him as the 'ever ready man' as he just kept on keeping on.
Unfortunately his battle ended Thursday night, 1st February. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
