UPDATE 3 – 28 DEC 2020

Dear Warriewood Patrol Member,

There were some changes in restrictions yesterday which has resulted in a decision to put the flags back up on the Northern Beaches.

The beaches will be monitored by the Australian Lifeguard Service and Northern Beaches Council Lifeguards only.

At this stage, Warriewood SLSC is not required to patrol the beach therefore scheduled patrols have been cancelled until further notice.

Things are moving quickly, and I suspect further decisions will be made over the next few days. I will get an email out as soon as we are advised.

Stay safe.

Regards

John

UPDATE  2 - 18 DEC 2020 12pm

Further to my email this morning, I can confirm that there will be NO Patrols this weekend. There was a suggestion that we may be required to provide surveillance Patrols, this is not the case.

No flags will be raised across the Northern Beaches this weekend.

Sydney Northern Beaches Branch will be providing operational support for Emergency Call outs via the RWC and RCO’s.

As a Club, we will remain closed until further notice. The only exception to this is Emergency call outs.

Stay safe everyone, and hopefully we get through this quickly.

We will provide information as soon as we are notified.

UPDATE  1 – 18 DEC

Warriewood Surf Life Saving Club acting on advice from NSW Health and Sydney Northern Beaches Branch has made the decision to close the Surf Club except for Emergency Services call outs until further notice.

We have not been named as a venue of close contact, however we believe that in the best interests of our members that closing the club and ceasing operations is the only option.

All aspects of the club must cease effective immediately. This includes Training (including Boats, Masters, Gold Medallion) , Nippers, Gym, Yoga and use of the Club and its equipment in general and bar facilities.

The Sippers function planned for this Sunday will be postponed, as will the Nippers Christmas party until we can properly celebrate.

Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern beaches has cancelled all Assessments, the Boat Carnival and the Fast Fives.

We are still awaiting advice from Council this morning in relation to Beach closures and operations over the weekend.  I will send further correspondence out later this morning when that advice comes through.

We will continue to monitor the situation and take advice from relevant authorities.  When further updates are available, we will let you know accordingly.

If anyone has any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Please stay safe everyone and please look after yourselves.
