TWILIGHT NIPPERS : 16TH DECEMBER 2017
CLOTHING WILL BE OPEN: from the back of our clothing ute near the Nippers flags on the beach on 3rd Dec, 7th Jan and 4th Feb.
Wet Weather Policy
Nippers is held rain or shine. The only circumstances where Nippers is cancelled are lightning, hail, tsunami warning, or some other extreme event that endangers beach-goers. If it’s a rainy Sunday, Nippers will be on.
Occasionally, the water conditions will result in beach closure and/or Nipper water event cancellation. Nipper beach events and life saving education will still continue.
The primary aim of Warriewood Nippers is providing the skills for a child’s safety in the surf and on the beach. We do this through a structured program of lessons provided by Surf Life Saving Australia. Nippers also provides an environment for children to learn teamwork and to acquire strong club and community values. We provide various opportunities to develop water and beach skills, and to improve fitness overall.
Warriewood supports our Nippers in competition and carnivals, and strongly encourages everyone to have fun.
Warriewood SLSC is known as the “family club”. There is something for every child in the family, not just 6-14 year olds. We run Kindy Nippers for younger siblings as well as a structured Cadet program for 15-18 year olds to progress from beyond Nippers into the senior Surf Life Saving movement.
Parents are strongly encouraged to get involved. Become an Age Manager, help with BBQ and social events, or go the next step and get the Bronze Medallion and help out with Water Safety. There’s something for everyone.
